FUNDRAISING EVENTS - FUNDRAISING EVENTS

Become a Friend

Reading Citizens Advice is an independent charity.  As such we rely on funding from within our local community.  This may take a number of forms e.g. Local government funding, sponsorship, events, or simple individual giving.

Whatever form our fund-raising takes we need continuous and on-going support if we are to continue to provide a service to the most vulnerable, locally in our community.

Through targeted sponsored funding we are able to run independent projects e.g. our collaboration with Macmillan Cancer Care.  However, this type of funding can be limited and, if removed, this valuable service provision then requres the support from our core advice service.

Our core advice service whilst supported by some 70 plus volunteers requires funding to maintain the resources that support their work.  Items such as continuous and on-going training and up-to-date computers and software are required to maintain the standards and quality of advice we, as part of the Citizens Advice service, provide.

Whilst we would encourage you to donate through the links listed above we are seeking volunteer fund-raisers who would be prepared to organise and head-up on-going independent support groups.  Their purpose would be to run such things as coffee mornings, social events, garden open days, etc. all in aid of Reading Citizens Advice.

The bureau will be holding it's own fund-raising events on an on-going basis and as a friend we would look for your support with such events either at the venue, on the night, or by selling tickets through contacts, friends or simply in your locality.
