Aims: We target clients in more deprived communities and offer assistance to those wanting to make positive, sustainable changes (whether large or small) to their lifestyles and so help them to improve the quality of their life. In line with Citizens Advice aims, we also support the Advice Service in exercising a responsible influence on the development of social policies and services, both locally and nationally. Background: This free and confidential service empowers clients who want to improve their lifestyles to deal with their aims or desires for themselves thereby improving their health and wellbeing. The strength of delivering this service from the CAB is that we can offer clients support with underlying problems which may be contributing to their lifestyle issues, e.g. by dealing with debt or employment issues we can address the root causes of some clients' depression or stress. Royal Institute of Public Health As part of the training of our Making Life Better volunteers, they are trained to take the Royal Institute of Public Health Level 2 award in Understanding Health Improvement.
